I saw this on Amnesty International Site. It’s been a few years it was published, 2006, but stories of rape – the worst, very disgusting, kind being the rape of babies of little girls under five years old by stupid papalolos that should be hung by their testicles!!!!! Of course, some of you might have heard of the call girl in Owerri that reported this aboki to the police station, says aboki did not pay her after service. I wonder how that case was resolved, since prostitution is illegal in Nigeria. Yes, that’s not technically rape. But i suppose most men who abuse prostitutes end up claiming the same thing as aboki did: i didn’t touch her!
Anyways, read on. It’s a very short paragraph, not noteworthy nonetheless:
Rape of women and girls by both the police and security forces, and within their homes and community, is endemic in Nigeria. It persists because the state has failed to tackle discrimination against women or address the entrenched culture of impunity for human rights violations committed by the police and security forces. Amnesty International is calling on the Federal and State authorities in Nigeria to urgently address the legal and social systems that tolerate rape and sexual violence on a wide scale. The organization is recommending actions to give meaningful effect to the international treaties Nigeria has ratified.
