Flourishing Florida

“How do you become a writer?” someone asked me. The only way i know how to be a writer is by writing.’

My name is Florida. Yes, it’s my real name. And if you are wondering how i came about it; no i was not born in Florida. I’ve never been to Florida. Actually, I’ve never been the United States. Until two years ago, the farthest i’d ever gone from the town of my upbringing (Owerri) is Adamawa, when i went for the compulsory NYSC. Since then, I’ve been to Cotonou, Accra, and London. I’d love to tour the world though. Go to Paris, Eypt,  Dubai, Cabo (because of Jennifer Aniston) – just generally widen my horizon.

In the meanwhile, this site will be my visa and my ticket to the world. I hope you enjoy this journey.

Flourishing Florida is a wife and a mom. And when she isn’t earning salary from her 8-5 job, she’s writing up a storm, or at least dreaming of all the things she’d write. She is a published author of contemporary short stories, a co-author of In My Dreams It Was Simpler. She is presently working hard on another novel which she hopes will be a blockbuster.
